So this is in the same vein as Eduard’s Big Ed sets. The basic set says it is for the Hobbyboss 82429 kit, while the side skirts et states it is for Academy and Hobbyboss kits.

E35-096 Side Skirts

This set is pretty straight forward and simple, even though it contains 7 frets of PE of varying sizes. To put it simply, you build the side skirts from PE and then attach them to the model. In building the skirts you will need some styrene rod of 0.2mm, 0.7mm and 1mm diameters. It will take a while to build this set due to the sheer amount of PE you have to bend, fold and put together, but the end result will be an incredibly detailed rendition of the real thing.

E35-101 Basic Set

This set contains 8 PE frets and some wire. The instructions are 4 1/2 pages long with lots of exploded diagrams explaining how it all comes together. The instructions need some careful study as the pages are very ‘busy’ and it will be easy to miss something. There isn’t a part of the model that isn’t touched upon by this set..apart from the side skirts of course! The top of the hull has all the usual brackets, handles and clasps replaced, the lights have new covers. The wires that run down each side of the hull, above the side skirts, is replaced and has new brackets. At the rear of the hull the stowage and mud guards are replaced. The 50 cal and all it’s accouterments are replaced, as described in almost a complete page of the instructions. The turret top has many items replaced including of course the ball and chain armour hanging from the side.

In conclusion this value pack will make your Merkava MkIV stand out from the crowd. If you’re building a Merkava, this is the set for you.

Thanks to ET Model for the review sample.
