This aftermarket set comes in Master Model’s usual packaging. The pitot tube is in one bag, the gun barrels and resin parts in another bag with both bags and the instruction sheet inside another sealed bag, with a card stiffener. All this is then stapled shut as well with a card header. The set includes turned brass Pitot Tube, fairings and resin muzzles.
The gun barrels are an easy fit if you follow the simple instructions. You cut the plastic barrel off where shown, drill a 1.5 mm hole and then use cyanoacrylate to attach the metal barrels, and then the resin muzzles. I noted that the instructions say the wing resin muzzles are slightly different to the fuselage one, but to be honest, I can’t see any difference in them, neither in the resin or in a few photos on the internet. Anyone know for sure?
The pitot tube follows a similar procedure. Take the kit item, cut where shown, drill a 0.5 mm hole and use cyanoacrylate to attach the metal replacement to the plastic stub. Then glue the upgraded item to the fuselage.
Finally you put the 3rd resin muzzle on the underside of the fuselage – no metal barrel this time.
The instructions are clear, simple and easy to follow – as always.
This set is highly recommended to improve your 1/72 Shenyang F-6. It has good quality parts, clear instructions and pretty simple to fit too.
Many thanks to Master Modeler for the review sample.
