This set from Master Model, AM-72-076, is for all 1/72 Fairey Firefly kits and contains 4 brass barrels. The set comes in Master Model’s usual packaging. The 4 different types of parts are in their own sections of one bag, with this bag and the instruction sheet inside another sealed bag, with a card stiffener. All this is then stapled shut as well with a card header.

The instructions are very clear and straightforward:

  • drill 2.0 mm holes in the wing leading edge so as to leave the fairing standing 4.4 mm proud of the leading edge of the wing.
  • assemble cannon using your choice of the 2 fairing types supplied
  • insert metal parts using cyanoacrylate

The level of detail in the metal parts is very fine, including hollowed out ends, and will be a definite improvement over the kit parts.

Many thanks to Master Model for sending the sample 1/72 Fairey Firefly Barrels for review.
